Congratulations to Robert Freeman who is set to retire on the 11th of July after 44 years, having started his career as a Specials Operative in the old Blockleys Specials Number 3 Plant in May 1980.
Over his tenure, Robert transitioned into roles involving samples and block paving, travelling across the country to attend exhibitions, address customer questions, rebuild kiln cars, and collaborate with resident bricklayers.
After a brief departure in 1996, Robert re-joined the company in 1997. He served as a Repacking Supervisor before being promoted to Specials Yard Supervisor at Number 9 Plant, a position he holds to this day.
Having left school to join Blockleys and, except for a 10-month hiatus, Robert has dedicated a total of 44 years to our brickworks in Telford. Robert has reflected fondly on his career, expressing his enjoyment in working for both Blockleys and Michelmersh.
Robert extends his heartfelt thanks to all his colleagues for their camaraderie and support throughout his many years with the company.
