Jonathan’s journey with Carlton began unexpectedly. After securing a role with the Civil Service upon leaving school, he took on a six-week summer job at Carlton on the recommendation of a family acquaintance. This initial experience proved valuable, and in 1978, after five years in the Civil Service, he returned to Carlton to work in the extrusion department.
He later moved into setting and unloading operations, assisting with installing new machinery. In 1984, he became a Production Supervisor, overseeing kiln and quarry operations. His experience and technical understanding led to his promotion in 1986 to Kiln and Quarry Manager, where he played a key role in the day-to-day running of the brick-making process. Since 2013, Jonathan has served as Technical Manager, a role in which he continues to contribute his extensive expertise.
Over the years, Jonathan has been closely involved in advancements at Carlton, helping to implement improvements and automation within the brick-making process. His detailed knowledge of the factory and production methods has been instrumental in maintaining efficiency and quality.
Jonathan’s 47 years of service reflect both his personal dedication and the long-standing tradition of craftsmanship at Carlton. His technical expertise and commitment to the industry are greatly valued, and we are delighted to see his contributions recognised with this well-deserved award.
Congratulations, Jonathan, on your remarkable achievement.
