Reaching 25 years with one company is not something that happens by chance. It is built through consistency, reliability and a genuine commitment to doing the job well, day after day. Paul’s career at Blockleys reflects exactly that.
He began on Plant 6 as a general operative, mixing sand and stains and learning the fundamentals of brick production from the ground up. From there, he progressed into a machine operator role before moving to Plant 7, where he ran a robotic setting machine, supporting efficient and accurate manufacturing. Along the way, Paul also worked closely with the maintenance teams, building a strong understanding of how the plant operates and how to keep it running smoothly.
Paul later moved into quarry operations, where he remains a key part of the team today. Operating excavators, dumpers and front loaders, he plays a vital role in supplying the raw materials that underpin the entire manufacturing process. His years of hands-on experience have given him a depth of knowledge that cannot be learned from a manual, only from time spent on site, solving problems and refining skills.
That experience continues to support the wider business, helping maintain consistency, efficiency and quality across operations. Just as importantly, Paul is widely respected for his approachability and the steady, dependable way he goes about his work, making him a valued colleague as well as a skilled operator.
Paul’s contribution over the past 25 years has helped shape how things are done today, and his role remains just as important as ever.
