Job Description
The successful applicant will be responsible for the continuous running of machinery and equipment to ensure budgeted production targets are met.
An awareness of health and safety must be demonstrated in the workplace at all times.
Key duties & responsibilities
- Carry out routine mechanical maintenance work and respond to equipment faults
- Diagnose breakdown problems
- Fit new parts and ensure equipment is working correctly
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (P.P.M.) on all machinery
- Control maintenance tools, stores and equipment
- Deal with electrical breakdowns, unplanned problems and repairs
- Work with specialist brick manufacturing equipment including modern programmable logic-controlled machinery
- Ensure there is continuous cover of the machinery and equipment in case of breakdowns
- Liaise with other engineering and production colleagues
- Build up and repair spare parts in electrical workshops to ensure they are ready for use
Previous experience & Qualifications
Essential
- BTEC certificate in operations and maintenance engineering
- NVQ level 3 in engineering
- City & Guilds certificate in engineering (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in hydraulics and pneumatics
Desirable
A BEng in a relevant subject, such as:
- Manufacturing engineering
- Electrical engineering
- Production engineering

Salary and Benefits
- Basic salary and shift premium up to £40,000 dependent on shift pattern
- Enhanced basic pay and shift for Saturdays (x1.5) and Sundays & Public holidays (x2)
- Overtime regularly available at enhanced rates
- Production bonus paid weekly subject to production targets being met
