Project overview
King George’s Gate is prominently situated within Tolworth, offering a range of meticulously designed 1, 2, and 3-bedroom apartments, the development commands attention opposite King George’s Park and the meandering River Wandle.
In 2021 work began transforming an expansive 11-acre parcel of land, which had lain empty for nearly two decades and was once occupied by government offices. The project encompassed the creation of 211 residential units, each accompanied by dedicated parking facilities and surrounded by enhanced road infrastructure. Careful consideration was given in the design process to the seamless integration of these residences within the local area and harmonising contemporary amenities with the architectural fabric of the area.
In addition to the residential side of the project, consideration was given to public spaces, such as bus stands, bike storage, a public square, restaurants, and more, which are set for the immediate area. To increase environmental wellbeing, rooftop gardens were added to foster ecological diversity and allow residents to enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Air source heat pumps were also integrated into the project, marking a significant stride towards achieving Net Zero Carbon homes by the year 2050.
400,000 Freshfield Lane Selected Dark Clay Bricks were chosen for their aesthetic appeal and durability. Characterised by a rich palette of dark red tones accentuated by subtle undertones of orange, purple, and brown, these bricks imbue a sense of timeless elegance, seamlessly complementing a variety of architectural styles. Perfect for a modern, forward-thinking project that chooses to embrace traditional London aesthetics.
