Project overview
Sheepcote Road is an affordable housing scheme in Harrow by Threefold Architects for Pocket Living, delivering 149 compact homes within a setting enriched by landscaped communal spaces. The development connects the architectural character of the high street with the needs of a new generation of renters and first-time buyers.
Drawing on the interwar shopping parades that define Harrow’s local identity, the design adopts a rhythmic composition articulated in Floren Pallas grey brick, complemented by rose-hued tones. Red brick detailing highlights lintels, podiums, and key thresholds, while varied bonds and projecting courses introduce depth and texture to the façades, allowing light and shadow to animate the elevations throughout the day.
Set within an evolving part of the town, Sheepcote Road HA1 offers a contextual yet contemporary response. Its compact homes and generous shared spaces are framed by a robust brick language that grounds the buildings in their setting, combining material richness with the pragmatism required of affordable housing. The result is a place that balances architectural integrity with social value, fostering community in the heart of Harrow.
