Friday 28th October 2011 was ‘Wear It Pink’ Day in support of Breast Cancer Campaign.
The Staff at Freshfield Lane Brickworks turned up for work in all shades of pink from sprayed overalls to checked trousers, pink ladies to pink headwear and beyond…… Each member of staff paid £2 to go pink and some generous additional donations helped them on their way to send the charity as much money as possible.
Supported by Michelmersh Brick Holdings PLC, the company that owns Freshfield Lane, Martin Warner, CEO said, “we are delighted to help our staff support such a worthy cause, and the company are pleased to match the amount the staff raised with all their efforts on the day.”
The day proved to be, not only great fun, but good for team building with departments interacting and even the ladies in the office giving a helping hand (well maybe just a hand) to the Crowders with their 15 minutes of manual labour!
In total Freshfield Lane staff raised £230.77 which the company will match meaning the charity will be receiving £461.54.
Continuing to support the charity, in May, the ladies from Freshfield Lane will be taking part in The London Moonwalk. Dressed as bumble bees, and starting at midnight, they will walk 13.1 miles through London raising money.
