As part of a major plan for the redevelopment of Colleges within the University of Cambridge, 25 Cranmer Road, a conventional 1930’s house was demolished and replaced with a stunning, modern, four-story graduate centre which offers three dozen rooms with views of the cricket ground.
During planning the local authority felt that the design of the building was too urban in character for such a splendid suburban site, and it was hoped that the choice of materials and detailing might be used to explore the qualities of a contemporary Arcadian architecture.
Offering the flexibility to combine a range of products, Charnwood supplied a beautiful pre-mixed blend of Farnham Red, Light Victorian Red, Hampshire Red and Steel Grey in a very precise and individual mix that was balanced and particular to the building, complementing it’s surroundings.
Highlighting MBH’s ability to blend any number of our products at any one of our five sites, MBH are delighted with the result of the mix of materials used on this project.
