Project overview
On a prominent location next to the coastal path, Harbour House by McLean Quinlan respects its setting in West Sussex’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
By carefully using flint, brick and timber to divide the separate wings of the house, McLean Quinlan has created an interesting space full of character and charm with each material settling in naturally amongst surrounding houses and a waterfront setting.
Harbour House uses Floren Cambria bricks across the facades both internally and externally, but also on the floor as pavers where deep reds blend beautifully with warm timber and cool, grey flint creating a visual mosaic that establishes this project’s unforgettable and genuinely unique charm.
Harbour House has won multiple awards, including RIBA South East Awards 2019, Project Architect of the Year, RIBA South East Awards 2019 Winner West Sussex and BD Architect of the Year Awards, 2019 Finalist.
