Project overview
Agar Grove is a large-scale, regenerative residential development in the London Borough of Camden that was designed with peak energy performance and reducing fuel poverty in mind.
Designed by Hawkins\Brown and working with Grant Associates and Mæ, Agar Grove is intentionally designed to allow residents to move through the area and ultimately, contribute positively to the surrounding area.
Our Floren Meteor Rustic bricks were used in the construction of the newly built apartments, which helped to create an exemplar for sustainable development in the area with Sustainable Urban Drainage systems, roof gardens and habitats that promote biodiversity being utilised as well.
Agar Grove provides 493 affordable homes for new and existing residents of Camden and is one of the largest Passivhaus developments in the UK. Phase 1 was completed in 2015, Agar place won the Housing Design Award that year and was further shortlisted for The Sunday Times British Homes Awards and case study NLA Housing Showcase and has since been nominated for an additional 7 awards including Project of the Year at CIBSE Awards 2020 and The Mayor’s Award for Sustainable and Environmental Planning, and Good Growth at the 2019 London Planning Awards. Agar Grove has also been showcased by the Department for Communities and Local Government – Estate Regeneration National Strategy as a best practice scheme.
